Some of you asked for "under construction" pictures....well, here you go! Buck and I spent Saturday looking for appliances. I know you are jealous! We worked out the needs vs. wants and can now tell you where to find the best deals in the DFW metroplex. Please pray for no rain and no more record snowfalls in the next couple of weeks, as the roof is coming off the house pronto!

So, I talked Buck into taking birthing classes with me at the hospital. We both agreed the classes were informative, but could have been done in a shorter amount of time. Nonetheless, I feel more at ease about the delivery process, knowing where we check-in, where all of the “magic” happens and finally where we will spend our recovery time in the hospital. Last night we attended the “Baby Basics” class and this was not as helpful as the others. I guess I knew more about newborns than I thought! However, I am sure we took some tidbits of information away from the class. Perhaps they should have used the following for class materials:

Remember Me? The girl that said she would blog more often and post some pictures? Well, I’m back. What a fabulous weekend we just had! Some of my best gals hosted a wonderful baby shower for us this past Saturday. Buck and I are so lucky to have some of the best friends and family ever! Here are just a few pictures from the shower. BIP is already so loved! Yes, our child is still nameless….

We also celebrated Amy and Kris’s recent engagement Saturday evening. It is always good times with the crew! But we ALLLLREADY KNOW that…..right ladies?

Today we are 35 weeks along and BIP is over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds!!! The countdown is on.....

8 weeks or less!

It is hard to believe that lil buckaroo will be here in 8 weeks or less. According to babycenter.com, BIP weighs 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long. I am supposed to be gaining about one pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to BIP. Today I promised brother John that I would tell BIP not to arrive in mid-February during his ski vacation. John mentioned that it still hasn't "hit" him that he is going to be an uncle soon. Yea, same here!!!


We were busy, busy last weekend. My cousins hosted a wonderful shower for me in Temple. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family! It was so nice to see everyone and we received great gifts for BIP. My cousin, Jennifer, made a baby quilt and it is one of the most special gifts we have received. All of the girls think they have scared me with their baby stories, while I only feel that much more prepared! Speaking of preparation, we started birthing classes last Sunday. The classes are at the hospital and very informative. This Sunday we will tour the hospital check-in, labor & delivery, etc. while the rest of you are watching the Cowboy game. GO COWBOYS!

A Time for Reflection

I received news this morning that a co-worker of mine passed away last night from a heart attack while he was throwing a football around with his son. This stopped me in my tracks. It is sad that it takes news like this to make us stop and "smell the flowers." My thoughts are prayers are with his family and friends at this time.

The Big 3-0

Eek! I received the email from babycenter.com informing me we are 30 weeks along with BIP. Where has the time gone? It makes me nervous and excited at the same time. I called Buck to tell him and he immediately got nervous about getting the house done in time. I honestly try not to think about it! Anyways, babycenter.com states that BIP is approximately 15.7 inches long and 3 lbs.....like a head of cabbage. He has been getting more active lately, especially in the evenings when I read before bed. I guess he really does want me to read out loud.

Yesterday I took advantage of post-Christmas sales and officially reached "mom" status because I bought more clothes for the kiddo than myself! I have to admit it is a lot more fun purchasing teeny tiny baby clothes, rather than maternity clothes (blah!).

Can you believe it snowed again today? While I think it is beautiful, I am done with the snow. If I wanted to see snow often, I would move up North.....and that is not happening anytime soon, if ever. Buck and I have thrown around the idea of a cabin in Colorado one day, but again, that is purely dreaming. I think I would get my beach home first! I hope you all enjoy the last couple of days of 2009. How will you say the upcoming year? I snickered a few months back when my co-worker said "O-10" on a client phone call and that started the debate. So, what is your preference? "O-Ten?" "Twenty-ten?" Or simply "Ten?" Me, personally, I like twenty-ten....

Merry Christmas to All!

I can't believe it is already Christmas Eve and in a few days we will be welcoming 2010! The presents are wrapped, cookies are made (and almost gone if brother doesn't stop eating them!)and it's snowing! Yes, snowing in Texas on Christmas Eve. I never thought I would ever see a White Christmas. It is quite lovely! About an hour ago John snapped this picture of Kodiak.



Last weekend we were in Houston for our annual family Christmas with my mom's side of the family. It is always good times to visit with the family. A few years ago we started a new tradition of the white elephant gift exchange. It can be quite entertaining, but it wasn't until last night that Buck came up with the perfect white elephant gift.....none other than the nobel peace prize! Too bad he didn't think of that a week ago....

Anyways, Merry Christmas to you and yours! It is hard to believe next year we will have a little boy to share the Christmas experience with!!!
