I found my feet!

Hard to believe our munchkin is four months old!!!  He had his check-up and shots last Friday.  We have a perfectly healthy baby boy.  His stats:

Height:  25 inches - 55th percentile
Weight:  15 pounds, 10 ounces - 67th percentile
Head Circumference:  42 cm - 44th percentile

I teased him that he was shrinking because he went from 90th to 55th percentile in height!  The dr. said we can start him on rice cereal now.  I am a little nervous about this....if his appetite is anything like his father's we are in trouble.  Once we give this boy food, there is no turning back!!

Brock is now reaching out for things....like his feet.  We are at the stage of moving things away from him as we sit at the table.  He wants to touch, grab, knock over and/or put in his mouth EVERYTHING!

Changes are a happening....

When I was young, the Fourth of July was a bittersweet holiday.  I loved the fireworks, parades, food, etc, but in the back of my mind I knew it meant Summer was halfway over.  Well, yesterday I had a similar feeling.  Tomorrow I go back to work after being on maternity leave for almost four months.  I sure am going to miss my little guy!!!! :(
Brock had a good time playing with Uncle Stephen yesterday.

I suppose I should catch you up on Brock's accomplishments over the past two weeks.  Let's see.....

He is starting to tolerate "tummy time" and even pushes himself up now.
He laughs hysterically when Gigi plays airplane with him.  He even straightens out his little arms and legs like Superman sometimes.
He slept completely through the night for a couple of nights.  However, we are not lucky enough for that to last!

On a different note, our home is days away from being ready!  Yippee!!  Buck has done a wonderful job.  I will post pictures eventually. If you want to help us move in, come on over :)

Happy Father's Day! and more...

We hope that all of those great dads out there had a wonderful Father's Day.  Buck had a relaxing day that involved yummy food, playing with the kiddo, watching the U.S. Open and an afternoon nap (those are hard to come by these days).  Here is a photo of him and his best pal..little buckaroo

We also celebrated Father's Day for Grandpa...

[Brock]  And Mommy never puts the camera down.  Here she wrapped me in a drool rag because I am THE Drool Monster!!!!  Mommy thinks I am teething...Gigi said it looks like I am getting my first haircut, but I don't have any hair to cut.  Gigi is silly.
My what big feet I have....
Those big feet help me show that jumperoo who's boss.  Grandpa let me borrow some books so my feet will touch the "ground."

Three Month Photos

We had 3 month photos of Brock taken this past Monday.  They captured Brock in a variety of his different moods and eventually wore him out.  He is such a cutie, although I am a little biased.
Here is a link to the slideshow the photographer put together of several more photos:

Wedding Bells, Road Trips and Roll Overs

It is hard to believe our baby boy turned 3 months old yesterday!!!  We have been busy with our good friends' wedding and a last minute road trip to Houston.

Several great friends from near and far gathered Saturday to celebrate Amy and Kris's wedding.  Amy looked absolutely beautiful and we all had a great time.  It is always nice to get everyone together!  Congrats to the happy couple!

The photographers for the evening, Sandra and Eric, are the same ones we had at our wedding.  We love them!  They snapped a quick family picture of us all dressed up.  Both Buck and I were in the wedding, while Brock wore a tux I purchased for $5 before he was born.  He looked so handsome!

At the last minute on Sunday, Brock and I decided to join Gigi on her trip to Houston.  We had a wonderful get away and enjoyed introducing Brock to some of his great aunts and uncles.  Buck and I are always teasing that Brock doesn't do any tricks yet.  We can sit and watch him for hours while he is sleeping or on his playmat.  Well, on Monday at 4:01pm (Aunt Kathy marked the time) Brock rolled over for the first time from his back to his tummy.  He was trying on Sunday and finally figured out how to get over that left arm on Monday after some frustration.  This kid is going to be running around in no time!  He also grabbed his foot for the first time on Monday......I am sure he was thinking "Wow, look at these long toes!"  Ha.

Our little boy is growing fast.  He is almost out of 3/6 month clothes and into 6/9 months!  I guess it really depends on the brand because he is just too long for most of them.  He seems to have changed so much within the past week!

Summer is Here!

Wowsers, it is H-O-T outside and that means no more lunchtime walks for us!  Anyways, I have been m.i.a. for a few weeks and have heard a few grumblings about a blog update.  Well, our little family has been busy....the house, finding childcare, pre-wedding festivities for our dear friends, etc.  I was sick for a few days following Mother's Day.  I didn't want to go the dr, but Buck made me....ironic since he never goes to the dr!  Anyways, I had zero energy and it is NOT easy taking care of a baby when you can barely get out of bed.  They ran some tests and initially thought I had mono!  I thought to myself...mono....I don't have time for mono.  I started to feel better after a few days and the test results finally came back saying I did not have mono, but I had it in the past.  Interesting.

So, the next week was one of my best gals' bachelorette party in New Orleans.  It was not easy to leave my sweet baby for a couple of days, but I knew he was in good hands with his Daddy.  Brock and Daddy took a road trip to San Antonio to visit Grandma and Grandpa.  They had a relaxing weekend away, while us gals had a good time in NOLA.  Here is a picture of us in our "golf theme" apparel that Saturday night.

Brock's first time in a pool was yesterday.  He likes to take baths, so I figured he would like the pool and he did.  I kept him all covered up to protect that baby soft skin :)

2 Month Check Up

Today we had Brock's 2 month check up.  The dr. said that he appears to be doing well and that we are doing a great job.  Woohoo!  He received 4 shots today and those made him feel bad for a majority of the afternoon, but he seems to be feeling better now.  His statistics:

Height:  24.5 inches - 90th percentile
Weight:  12 pounds, 14 ounces - 75th percentile

So, maybe he will be tall!?!?
