Six Month Check Up

Five shots this morning!  Yes, five, but our baby boy is so tough.  He took them like a champ.  Again, the dr. said he is looking great-happy and healthy.

His stats:

Height: 26 3/4 inches - 63rd percentile
Weight: 19 pounds, 9 ounces - 84th percentile
Head Circumference: 44.5 cm - 72nd percentile

Today was Brock's last day of Summer as he starts "school" on Monday.  Let's hope it is a good fit for all of us!

Happy Half Year Birthday Brock!

A day in the life of Brock at six months old...
Jump, jump, jumperoo!  He is going to launch himself to the moon one of these days.

He loves to sit and play.  I have a feeling he will be into everything soon!

Bmilk, oatmeal, veggies and fruit are all a part of this guy's diet.

Master Wiggle Worm makes it look like you have never put a diaper on a baby before!

Play Date

Last weekend Brock had a play date with baby Phoenix (8 weeks old) and Brooke (15 months).  Us gals had a great time playing with the kiddos.  Wow, how the times have changed.

One Year, 50 Posts Later

and I am still writing to you all.  Pardon me as I pat myself on the back for a moment!  Ha!  Several exciting things have happened in the year since I first started this blog.  Thank you ladies (again, you know who you are) for pushing me to do this.  It is fun for me to look back at the year of posts.  As I sit and wonder what the next year brings, one of my favorite quotes pops into my head.

Life's a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don't worry about what you don't know
Life's a dance you learn as you go

So, let's keep dancing!  Oh yea and....

If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans

I am a "planner," so I hear God laugh A LOT!

What are some of your favorite quotes??  Share them in the comment section....come on readers, don't be shy!  I know you are out there.....you can even post "anonymously"!!!!

Summer Fun....Carrots Yum!

The Summer is flying by!  Buck and I decided to get out of town for the weekend and headed to San Antonio to visit with my in-laws.  It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend away!  Here are some pictures of us from the weekend (thank you Grandpa!):

I like this series of photos with Brock and Daddy:
We were all laughing at how babies love to give slobbery kisses.  So cute!

Brock had his first veggie last Thursday.  Daddy asked Brock to choose between a container of carrots and a container of peas.  Brock immediately went for the carrots and Mommy was happy.  He is already reaching for the burnt orange!  Here is a very tired baby boy eating his first carrots.

Last week Brock started rolling over like it was no big deal-roll here, roll there, soon he will be rolling everywhere.  I woke up in San Antonio to find him sleeping on his stomach (he must have rolled over some time during the night).  I jumped up so fast to make sure he was breathing.  Of course, this makes the grandmas laugh because they were told to put us to sleep on our tummies when we were babies.  Anyways, Brock was fine and I guess he likes sleeping on his tummy just like his Mommy.

Five Months

Yes, that is right, five months!  In the words of Uncle Stephen, "Brock is looking more like a cute lil man everyday."  Isn't that the truth!  Let's see....he has been eating oatmeal cereal for a few weeks now and sleeping thru the night.  He officially grew out of his Bumbo chair last week when it took two people to get him out of it!  Brock spent a few days with his Grandma (Buck's Mom) traveling all over (first trip out of TX) to visit his great grandparents, great great Mimi and family friends.  And boy was he tired each evening when we picked him up.....Grandma tired him out!!  Here are a couple of pictures taken with Grandma's iPhone when Brock visited his Great Grandma and Great Great Mimi in Oklahoma:

He is a happy baby boy....ready to get up and go....

Freeze Frame Time

I arrived home from work later than usual this evening and only had an hour (if that) with Brock before he went to bed.  That time was filled with feeding him oatmeal cereal, bath, bottle and then bed.  It went by way too fast!  It made me think of this song:

It Won't Be Like This For Long
Artist: Darius Rucker

He didn't have to wake up
He'd been up all night
Layin’ there in bed listenin’
To his new born baby cry
He makes a pot of coffee
He splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss and says
It's gonna be OK

It won’t be like this for long
One day we'll look back laughin’
At the week we brought her home
This phase is gonna fly by
So baby just hold on
‘Cause it won't be like this for long

Four years later ‘bout 4:30
She's crawling in their bed
And when he drops her off at preschool
She's clinging to his leg
The teacher peels her off of him
He says what can I do
She says now don't you worry
This’ll only last a week or two

It won’t be like this for long
One day soon you'll drop her off
And she won’t even know you're gone
This phase is gonna fly by
If you can just hold on
It won’t be like this for long

Some day soon she'll be a teenager
And at times he'll think she hates him
Then he'll walk her down the aisle
And he'll raise her veil
But right now she's up and cryin’
And the truth is that he don't mind
As he kisses her good night
And she says her prayers

He lays down there beside her
‘Til her eyes are finally closed
And just watchin’ her it breaks his heart
Cause he already knows

It won’t be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
All grown up and gone
Yeah, this phase is gonna fly by
So, he's tryin’ to hold on

‘Cause it won’t be like this for long

Sometimes I wish I could freeze frame time....
