First Haircut!

Well, Daddy was bored and tired of looking at Brock's shaggy hair, so he grabbed the clippers and started clipping away!  This isn't quite what Mommy had in mind.  Needless to say, she was just a tad nervous.  I thought for sure Brock would end up looking like Lloyd (Jim Carrey) from Dumb and Dumber!

Even Brock looks nervous!

Mommy, what is Daddy doing?

Seriously Daddy, what are you doing?

A bath to clean up...

How handsome am I?
Daddy did a great job!

Snow, Snow Go Away....

Please don't come again for another day!  We are on day FOUR of being cooped up in the house. Although, last night real snow fell vs. the sleet/ice storm we had before.  I think we received about 6 inches of snow during the night and into this morning...the weatherman predicted a "light dusting."  So, we all got bundled up to check it out!
Daddy, it's cold!

What is this?!?

As with everything else, I must taste it!

Sledding the Texan way...on a trash can lid!

Last Post for January Twenty-Eleven!

Well, we have been just a little busy lately, but that is a good thing, right?  Keeps you young?  Last weekend our poor baby had the flu and an ear infection.  A trip to urgent care, some cuddles, good sleep and medicine had him feeling better a couple of days later.  But, then Mommy didn't feel well.  It is a good thing Daddy never gets sick!

Friday evening we attended Haley's 3rd birthday party at Pump it Up.  I wasn't sure if Brock was going to be able to jump/climb/play all over the bounce houses and slides.  He did and had a blast (so did Mommy!).

The weather was so nice the rest of the weekend.  I attended an out of town baby shower Saturday, while Buck kept Brock entertained.  Sunday we planned on getting Brock his first hair cut, but decided to walk to the park and play for a couple of hours instead.  We (Buck, Brother and myself) showed off our not-so-good basketball skills, while Brock chased leaves blowing in the wind.   Ha!  I had no idea they took the large, wooden playground out of our park......I sure hope they get the new one in fast!  Anyways, I wish Spring was here to stay, but tonight they're predicting a winter storm and temperatures below freezing for 84 hours!  Brrrrr!  Super Bowl....Winter Storm...Super Bowl....Winter Storm.....I wonder what they will find to report about next week.

What Resolutions?

It's January 19th, I am already tired of my New Year's resolutions and have decided to adopt this cartoon instead!  New Year's resolutions are equivalent to going on a diet and only then noticing every yummy dessert in sight.  Torture!

I have neglected the blog recently.....I need more hours in a day!  I actually have been working on a blog post, but it's definitely not as fun as this blog.  I was asked to compose a blog post for my firm's retail industry blog.  I know you all can't wait to learn about the new tax treatment of gift cards for retailers.  HA!

We have been busy with a little of this and a little of that.  Brock is growing like a weed, still loves to give slobbery kisses and I spotted another bottom tooth coming in.  He needs those teeth for all of the "grown-up" food he likes.  We have to feed Brock his dinner before we start eating our's because he is definitely more interested in what we are having.  Don't get me wrong, we share with him, but he still needs some of those good-for-you baby fruits and veggies!  He had a meltdown the other evening when Buck finished his mashed potatoes.  Oh, that makes me laugh.  For the first trimester of my pregnancy, the only food I could keep down was mashed potatoes!

Uh-oh

Brock learned how to say "uh-oh" today.  So, we heard it over and over and over...and over.  We had a fun day-saw a little snow, ate some Babe's chicken, played with his new Christmas toys and my favorite was when we were laying on the couch and Brock gave tons of slobbery kisses and giggles.  I wish I could "bottle up" those moments!!  Last night Buck and I enjoyed a date night of dinner and the movie True Grit.  I liked the western movie more than Buck!  I believe he was looking for more cowboy fights, rather than sassy girl avenges father's death.  Oh well.

I can't believe (I say that every month) that our stinker is 10 months old today!  His one year birthday will be here before we know it.  Someone learn how to freeze time and tell me the secret, please!

I was feeding Brock dinner the other night when he ran his messy hands through his hair and gave himself a mohawk.  I had to get the camera!
Brock:  Not now Mom, I am playing with my legos!
Brock:  I must taste each one!

Happy New Year!

I had this past week off from work and enjoyed my time resting after the Christmas holiday....resting as much as one can with an active baby.  Brock and I had fun playing with all of his new toys, going on walks, cooking dinners, etc.  We are gradually feeding him more table foods and getting him used to the sippy cup.  He is growing up so fast!

I want to wish everyone peace and joy for the New Year.  This past year was very exciting for us and here's to 2011 bringing us just as many blessings.  I have been pondering my new year's resolutions....let's see what actually sticks.
