Southbound I35....

We traveled Southbound I35 the past two weekends and had a blast.  The first trip was with our good friends to Austin to celebrate a couple of 30th birthdays.  We had scheduled a wine tour and lunch at Salt Lick (yum!) for Saturday during the day and then out to party in our tacky Christmas sweaters.  Good times.  It is always fun to get our group together.

Birthday Girls

Jen rode back home with us from Austin and we took care of Brock and Rylan on Monday.  We had a great time with the boys!  Nanny Jen made sure she taught Brock "Geaux Tigers!"

The following weekend we jumped in the car again and headed to Temple for Christmas with my mom's side of the family.  It is always great to see everyone and this year it was definitely fun watching Brock and Darcy play together.  They ran around, rolled down the hill and even fell over once because they were hugging each other so tightly.  Christmas is so much more fun with kiddos!!!  This next set of photos is Brock and Darcy having a laughing fit....too cute.
and more cute photos....
Rolling down the hill
One must take time to smell the flowers (not pull them up, right Brock!?!?)
oh, let's roll around some more...

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas....

Friday we decided to scope out the Holly Colley Holiday the city put together even though it was cold and misty-rain outside.  Brock enjoyed the petting zoo this time and even participated in the pony ride, although reluctant at first.  We watched the lighting of the tree and watched Santa arrive in an antique fire engine.

Be gentle!

"It will be fun....just hold on."

This is fun!

Santa!

A nice woman offered to take our photo
Brock also had his photo made with Santa.....um, he is not a big fan this year!  I will have to scan it in for the blog.

This morning Brock helped to decorate the Christmas tree in his oh-so-adorable pajamas!  So far, so good on the tree....he hasn't destroyed anything yet, although it has not been decorated for 24 hours.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have so much to be thankful for and the annual Thanksgiving get together is a nice reminder of that.  Buck and I really enjoy hosting Thanksgiving (even though we work our tails off the days leading up to it!).  It was a beautiful day to share with great family.  We enjoyed yummy food (big thanks to my mother-in-law and others for helping out!!!), good company and of course, football.  This year's turkey was named "Hank" as in "Hanks-Giving."  I stole that from some silly tv show....

We introduce kiddos to dominoes at a very early age :)  I love this photo!  We were happy to have Uncle John and Uncle Stephen with us...not world travelers this year!

Grandma with the pool!
This photo makes me laugh....only because it looks like Jason Witten was at our family Thanksgiving.
Pocahontas (aka Grandma) was speedwalking on our way back from the park.  You can barely see the rest of us in her dust...
Brandon (nephew) said we looked like the Desperate Housewives.
My sweet Grandma joined us this year.  She turned 90 years old this past March.
We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We wish we could spend the day with all of our friends and family!

It's Time to Catch Up...

We have been busy, busy!  Busy with Brock's friends' birthday parties, enjoying the Fall weather and getting the house ready for Thanksgiving.  A few fun facts about our little guy:

It's no secret that we have an active little guy.  He loves to run around and play ball, build with his legos and blocks, read stories with Mommy and Daddy, draw on his Magna Doodle, etc.  He also loves crayons, play doh, stickers, markers, etc (we call it his art box).  One morning we put his chair a little too close to the window and he decided the window and window sill were his canvas.  Oops!!!  Thank goodness it was only crayon.

And he loves to put on our shoes and walk around the house.

His favorite words are:  mine, no and yea.  He is not shy when it comes to expressing his opinion either!  Brock loves to point out airplanes and refers to them as "bay-ohs."  We can't figure that translation out and the fact that he calls light switches a "bee."

Today we did a weigh-in.  Brock is 29 pounds and just shy of 3 ft. tall.

Happy Halloween!!!

Brock dressed up as a garden gnome this year and it was greatness.  The beard was too itchy for his liking, so we marketed him as a freshly-shaved gnome.  We were not sure he would understand the concept of trick-or-treating and boy were we wrong!  We met some of his friends to spend the evening with- Brooke and Noah.  Brooke was a beautiful ladybug, while Noah was the cutest sheriff.  The three of them had a great time going door to door and while they may not have said trick-or-treat each time (that's kind of difficult for a 20 month old to say!), they did say thank you.
Thank you for my pumpkin bag Ms. Mo!

"Are you guys really going to make me wear this?"

"What are you wearing?"

"I LOVE Trick-or-Treating!"

The cutest garden gnome I have ever seen.

Trick-or Treat!

The Daddies had to take the boys up to this scary house.  Brooke was not interested at all.

Love my little guy

We had to get a photo of him in his element....a yard ornament!
Good times!

Happy 4 Years!

Well Hubby, thanks for being my partner on this crazy ride....

I just realized I never posted pics from our AWESOME 80's themed bday party in The Big Easy!!!!  Yes, Buck was wearing a mullet wig.....hi-lar-i-ous.  Thanks for keeping it fun babe!

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I’ve lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you

On my own I’m only
Half of what I could be
I can’t do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I pray we never undo
