New Braunfels and 4th of July

We spent a very relaxing week in New Braunfels with Grandma, Grandpa and Brandon over the 4th of July.  We enjoyed the pool(s), went for walks, fed the deer, attended a 4th of July Parade, watched fireworks, rode a miniature train, had a picnic, visited the San Antonio Zoo and much more!  It was a wonderful getaway!  Many thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for letting us crash their house for the week.  By the end of our stay Brandon and Brock were picking on each other like brothers.

This and That

I have so many little things to catch you up on....

Our little guy is a talker.  It is amazing how much his vocabulary has increased over the last several months.  He is even funnier than ever....our little comedian.  His favorite show is now Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and he loves to say, "Mishka Mushka Mickey Mouse!"  He is still a good eater and LOVES cheese, blueberries and ICE CREAM (not together!).  He is demanding independence and we often hear, "let me do it all by myself!"  Well, they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here goes it....

Our first garden has been successful.  Daddy went overboard planting....we have those pictured and several different tomatoes, radish, peppers, attempted lettuce and spinach, etc.  Brock loves picking the veggies!

Must help Daddy in the yard!  Ms L says that Brock is always looking for a task and that is the truth.  I suppose because Mommy and Daddy are always busy doing something!  I am pretty sure this little guy sold the house next door that day.  The woman and her daughter could not get enough of him!

Six Flags!

My company picnic was at Six Flags this year.  We were not sure if Brock would enjoy it or not and I expected to only spend a couple of hours, have lunch and say hi to my co-workers and their families.  Well, I completely underestimated our little boy's energy!  We arrived around 11am and did not leave until close to 6pm!  No nap, no crankiness, just pure fun.  We were pleasantly surprised to say the least.  He was able to ride several "big kid rides" with Daddy and we didn't even make it to "looney tunes land" for the toddler rides!

Afraid of Bugs Bunny at first and I mean really afraid, he was hiding behind Daddy when we walked by Bugs earlier in the day.  However, at lunch he wanted to be his best bud.

Not so sure....it did go really high up in the air.  This is the only ride he said he didn't like...even days later.

 Would you believe he only took a 15 minute nap and then entertained Steph and Dan and was a good boy at dinner with friends!  We were so proud and complimented him all night.  Because he was so good, we let him ride the horse after dinner.  You have to realize we (along with friends) put him and Brooke on these same horses months ago and they screamed bloody murder.  Now he can't get enough....apparently, Daddy wanted to join in on the fun.

All Aboard!

Brock LOVES trains right now.  Not just a little, but A LOT.  Every day he says he wants to go ride a choo choo train.  We are running out of trains to ride!  He loves to say, "All Aboard!" and "Choo Choo!"

One Saturday we drove to downtown Fort Worth to catch the Forest Park Miniature Train.  It was perfect for Brock's first train ride!  And his love for trains exploded!

For Mother's Day, we rode the Grapevine Vintage Railroad with my parents round trip from Grapevine to the Fort Worth Stockyards.  It was a beautiful day!!  This was a real train and yes, Brock loved it!

We walked the Stockyards and enjoyed ice cream, cupcakes, balloon art (those are longhorns Brock is wearing) and the cattle drive.  Brock tuckered out on the way back!

  

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter weekend with family and unfortunately, several of those photos are on the "not to be found" camera.  I do have a few on my iPhone from the city Easter egg hunt we participated in.  This was the first year Brock understood what the egg hunting was all about and I learned we have to watch out for greedy parents!

He also had the opportunity to get his photo taken with the Easter Bunny.  This time was better than the photo op with Santa, but he is still not sure...

And One More Makes FOUR

We are proud to announce that we are awaiting the arrival of BIP #2 in October.  Here is a photo of our first sonogram.

The first trimester was a lot harder for me with BIP #2, so several people assumed we are having a girl.  And recently we found out we are having a.....

The days leading up to the last sonogram we asked Brock if he wanted a baby brother or baby sister and he consistently said, "baby sister."  We still have not figured out who/if anyone was coaching him to say that!  So, now we ask him what he wants to name his baby brother and he says, "SISTER!" 

My favorite responses to BIP #2 being a boy....

My Brother John:  Awesome!!! Congrats! Those boys are going to have so much fun growing up together!! I see sports and BB guns in your future!!

then My (youngest) Brother Stephen:  Just watch out for the older brother shooting the younger brother with BB guns. It will hurt more than he expects haha. 

It's almost like Stephen is speaking from experience....ha!

***For those of you that have forgotten, BIP stands for Baby in Progress.

Two Year Check Up

Okay, so I am playing catch up.  Brock had his two year check up on March 20th and all checked out great.  His stats were:

Height:  35 1/4 inches, 71st percentile
Weight:  31 pounds, 82nd percentile
Head Circumference:  48 cm, 31st percentile

We checked his height today and he is at 37 inches.  We don't have a scale (for some reason) and so I don't know his exact weight, but he is getting heavier to me!
