I Survived...

I survived the 9/15 tax deadline after many long nights at the office. I decided to take the remainder of the week off from work in order to rest and catch up with the world. I caught up on sleep yesterday and was ready to accomplish errands today. We had a house showing this morning, so I decided to wander around Target before I met up with one of my best pals, Amy, for lunch. While in Target, I took my first look at maternity clothes. After a few smirks, I decided that I will just stick with the rubberband trick for now, rather than buying those funny looking pants! I am sure the day will come when I buy the pants, but I am just not there yet. I wandered around some more of the store and started to feel a little faint, so I headed towards the check out. The light-headed feeling got a lot worse at the check out where I looked at the cashier and said, “I think I am about to pass out.” I somehow managed to pay for my purchases and left them with her while I found a place to sit down. It just so happened that the lady behind me in line was a Dr. She came by and checked on my pale self and started yelling for someone to get me water. Oh great, here we go…..I am causing a scene in Target! I got water and she determined that my blood sugar was low and quickly ran off to buy me some apple juice and a snack. What an angel she was because I started to feel better shortly after that. This proves there are still good people in this world! The Dr. went on with her day, but the Target people were concerned. They wanted to take me to my car in a wheel chair….um, no! Instead, they took my purchases out to the car for me. So embarrassing! I have learned my lesson. There are now snacks in my purse just in case those light-headed feelings ever come back.

Buck and I are firm believers in “pay it forward.” I can’t count how many times Buck has stopped to help someone broken down on the side of the road or offered a hand. Just the other day we were at AutoZone trying to figure out why my check engine light was on when we parked next to a gentleman having difficulty changing out a headlight. He clearly didn’t know what he was doing, so Buck jumped in to help and it was taken care of in a matter of minutes. The guy tried to give him money which Buck declined and instead offered a handshake and a business card in case he ever needed help with anything in the future. The guy recognized Buck’s name right away…..that’s what happens when you have a name like Buck. Come to find out, he and Buck went to middle school together. What a small world!

Well, that’s enough of my stories. Again, thank you to the Dr. that took care of me this morning….I will for sure “pay it forward.”

Well i'm glad you didn't pass out in Target, how scary! You've got to get the maternity pants, they're so comfortable!! JCPenny has some great dress pants for a really good price, I got my jeans at Motherhood Maternity.
