Well, it has been a while since I blogged. Blame it on work and the 9/15 deadline. Those of you that know me, know that tax deadlines are like the seasons to me. We used to have a busy season in the Spring and Fall. Now, I feel like busy season is year round just even busier in the Spring and Fall. That's enough about work. We are now 14 weeks along and according to babycenter.com, our BIP (baby in progress*) is the size of a lemon. Last week BIP was compared to the size of a shrimp and the week before that compared to a lime. A lime or a lemon sounds so much more pleasant than a shrimp. So, last week babycenter.com finally ventured out of the fruit category for comparisons. One of my best gals, Steph, and I pondered early on in this adventure whether or not babycenter.com would always compare BIP to fruit. What are they going to compare BIP to at 40 weeks? A watermelon?!? Ha, well, let’s hope not! One week we had to google what a kumquat was. Sorry Dad, after all of those years of trying exotic fruits, I still didn’t know what a kumquat was! As young children my father liked to broaden our knowledge of fruit by picking up random ones at the grocery store and then making us try them. I will probably do the same to my kiddos.
On to the important stuff…today we had our second dr. appt. It took forever for us to see the dr., but once we did, it was all good news. She listened to BIP’s heartbeat and said it sounds really strong. It looks like everything is progressing on schedule. I just pray this nausea goes away soon. I have been feeling better the past couple of weeks…minus last Sunday. Apparently, BIP does not like lasagna. It was not a pleasant evening. And, of course, it’s not just that simple. Apparently, I am really bad at throwing up (according to Buck) and burst blood vessels in my face. Monday at work (yes, I worked Labor Day-thank you IRS) I explained several times over again that my husband does not beat me; rather, BIP does not like lasagna. The dr. reassured me this bursting of blood vessels nonsense was common and I guess that is comforting.
Pray that I make it until next Tuesday, September 15th. I have some wonderful clients that like to keep me working right up until deadline. Oh, and if you know anyone looking to purchase a beautiful home in Grapevine, give us a call. Yes, our home is on the market. You know me…..I live off being busy!
*Thanks Matt for the acronym of BIP. I have to admit I didn’t come up with that one on my own.
