Thank goodness for Texas Rangers baseball considering the Longhorns and Cowgirls aren't worth watching. Nah really, I have been a Rangers fan ever since I was a young girl. My father is an avid fan and his father was an avid fan. It is safe to say I come from a long line of Rangers fans. Well, ever since they were the Texas Rangers that is. I remember watching many (many is a conservative term) games in the old ballpark, section BB in the outfield with our cooler of ice, liter bottles of soda and snacks brought from home. It is in that old ballpark that my father taught us about baseball and we had the pleasure of watching good ole Nolan Ryan put Ventura in a headlock and get a few good swings in. I will never forget that game and the uproar in the stands......everyone threw trash on the field....oh the memories. Memories of ice cream in a souvenir helmet, yummy ballpark hotdogs, autograph Wednesdays, Zonk (the longtime "drummer" at the ballpark), dot races (when you actually "won" something from Whataburger), Bobby Valentine getting thrown out of several games, Steve Boo-shell (Buechele), Julio Franco's crazy batting stance, even the songs they played, etc. To this day I hear songs that remind me of the ballpark. If we weren't at the game, it was either on the tv or the radio. Dad even took us out of school for opening day in the new ballpark...I thought I was so cool. Anyways, baseball means Summertime and it never meant end of October....until now! I am so excited that the Rangers are in the World Series and appreciate 110% that A. Rod was the last out to get us here. A few photos from my childhood (thanks Dad!):

| How cool are we in Section BB?!? I am pretty sure this is for one of the brother's birthdays. And from the looks of it, it must have been free hat day!!! |

Brock will be sporting his Texas Rangers gear courtesy of Gigi and Grandpa for the World Series games. Grandpa has already made him a fan. While we lived with them, Grandpa and Brock would watch the games together every game night. Anyways, enough jibber jabber.....PLAY BALL! GO RANGERS!

I got to go to many of those games with you and they definitely are special memories. Good times.

I even went to one or two, and remember listening to Rangers games on the radio with Grandpa (or at least him listening while I was there).
